The Wall Test

For Men, there’s one pretty much fool proof way

to assess how their lifestyle is.

Do they do enough decent exercise?

Do they eat well?

Are they a booze hound?

etc, etc

Look at their belly,

it’ll tell you all you need to know.

Granted there’s the odd freak of nature

who can eat an abundance of crap

and never really put on that much weight.

But for the rest of us,

the truth is in the belly.

Simple test:

Put your arms in the air,

walk towards the wall.

What part of your body makes contact with it first?

Your nose? Your toes?

or your nedser?

If it’s the latter than the truth is you’re doing something wrong.

That’s not my opinion,

but the truth, simply based on what you look like.

See you belly doesn’t care about your stories,

how busy you were this week,

how bad the weather was,

how the day got away from you.

Either you’ve done the necessary work

or not.

A simple yes or no.

So unless you’re in that 1% of freaks

it’s easy to asess where you’re at.

You can tell yourself it’s different for you,

You can tell yourself that you’ll get it sorted in the new year

You can tell yourself you don’t have time to exercise

or to make a decent meal for yourself.

You can use your kids as an excuse

not to go train for an hour in the evenings.

And while your brain can find it pretty convincing,

don’t expect the belly to do the same.

It doesn’t care for your stories.

If you do the wall test,

and that belly is the first point of contact.

Maybe it’s time to change some habits.

If it doesn’t bother you, that’s cool

carry on as normal.

But if it’s getting to you

and it’s holding you back in other areas of your life.

Get it f#cking sorted.

And get it done now, before it gets out of hand.

The longer you leave it, the harder it will be to take that first step.
